What is IP Authorization?

IP authorization is an optional security feature available across all Toolip products. While not mandatory, enabling it ensures that only authorized networks or devices can access your proxies. If you choose to authorize a specific network, your proxies will only work within that network unless you explicitly authorize additional ones.

How IP Authorization Affects Proxy Configurations

The way IP authorization impacts your proxy format depends on the type of proxy you are using:

For Search Engine ISP Proxies

  • When you authorize your IPv4 address, your proxy format will switch to host:port instead of host:port:username:password.

  • This adjustment applies only to Search Engine ISP Proxies.

For All Other Proxy Types

  • If you are using Shared Datacenter Proxies, Dedicated Datacenter Proxies, Global ISP Proxies, or Rotating Residential Proxies, your proxy format will always remain host:port:username:password, regardless of IPv4 authorization.

Toolip supports proxy configurations only in the host:port format. Using the traditional IP:Port format will result in connection errors. Always use the designated hostname and port to ensure a seamless connection.
